COFFEE MACHINE September 2, 2010 D. CLEMENTS (UK) TOOK A WHILE TO GET USED TO IT-----BUT END RESULT IS WORTH THE WAITE
DONT SKIMP ON CHEAP COFFEE, ITS NOT WORTH IT.
TAKES A WHILE BEFORE ANYTHING HAPPENS WHEN YOU SWITCH ON, DONT WORRY, I KNOW IT MAKES A DIN WHEN YOU HIT THE START BUTTON----FOUND SINGLE CUP AT A TIME BETTER THAN TRYING TO DO 2 CUPS TOGETHER---MUCH STRONGER---DEPENDS ON OWN TASTE.I FOUND ARABICA ESSPRESSO GROUND COFFEE FROM TESCO IS MY PERSONEL CHOICE, VERY SMOOTH, GREAT TASTE.
LOOKED ON INTERNET, PODS VERY EXPENSIVE, ITS UP TO YOU?
APART FROM THAT, VERY HAPPY WITH MACHINE.
Looks awesome but very noisy and not quite hot enough. August 30, 2010 Andy W 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Firstly, this looks awesome on the kitchen side.
It also produces great coffee when you can be bothered to use the milk frother and do everything properly.
However, I find it doesn't get the water hot enough to be useful if you are not going to use the steamer. It's also seriously noisy!
3rd time lucky August 18, 2010 gg2731 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First machine arrived with no secure packaging and box very battered-sent it back.
Second machine arrived-did not work-contacted de'Longhi who talked me through operation and then said, "you have a faulty machine, return it to Amazon!
Bit of an epic to sort out, as Amazon appear to have a policy of not replacing the same item twice, had to INSIST on speaking to a supervisor who finally got a third one sent....so .....after 3 days waiting in...got a working machine.
Product very good, am pleased with it. Still practicing my "frothing" skills, would be easier if frothing "arm" moved away from machine a bit, but, all in all, does what it says on the box.
Its pretty good but not perfect July 22, 2010 BenRB 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this machine after having a couple of fully automatic beans to cup machines that went wrong.
The good news is that the machine does make decent coffee - especially if you use freshly ground beans. The coffee is a good temperature and the machine is ready to use quickly.
The most annoying feature is that the gap between the coffee outlets and the drip tray lid is quite small, so you can only fit in small espresso cups - so not very good if you want to make a larger cup of coffee - you can remove the lid of the drip tray to fit in a larger cup - but its not ideal.
It makes coffee July 14, 2010 Spike Bainbridge 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Now obviously the quality of the coffee it produces is only as good as the coffee you put in but, I have to say that this little fella makes making said coffee a breeze at the same time as delivering the true barista feeling.
Apart from the little twiddly steam knob on the top it seems like a fairly sturdy unit and it sits nicely on its rubber feet on the work top (no slipping). You might get the occasional drip from the steam pipe after it's been used but as far as I can see that's just the result of condensation.
All in all, it's a welcome addition to my kitchen.
