We purchased the La Cafetiere 8-cup version several months ago and, we're delighted with it.
The cafetiere looks very elegant, stylish and well-made, in addition to which, it's extremely practical. It has a good spout, which pours without any dripping; coffee is kept nice and hot (though the handle remains cool) and the wide base makes it very safe to use (an accidental knock is unlikely to tip it over, as can happen with straight-sided pots.)
Compared to the glass versions we've previously owned, this is much nicer and well worth the cost. Highly recommended.

I was a little reluctant to spend the extra money when you can purchase the glass cafetieres for half the price.
But I am so glad I did.
It looks beautiful, and is a real statement piece in your kitchen .I have had friends go out and purchase them after seeing mine. It pours effortlessly and really does keep the coffee hot - it improves the flavour of your coffee .I wish I had bought one sooner, when I think of all the glass cafetieres I have broken over the years this one will last a lifetime!

I was suprised to such a large and stylish coffee pot at the price. Can highly recommend it as it holds a lot of coffee and is easy to clean out. Keeps the coffee hot for over an hour making it great in our office.

Like so many other reviewers I like the look of the glass cafetiere but having broken four in the space of a year (the first one lasted almost five years so I wonder if the three that followed were inferior quality!?!) decided enough was enough and, at the cost of four replacement glass's, bought the Thermique. I'm very pleased with it. It looks nice, keeps the coffee hot for ages and is, compared to the glass version, almost indestructible.
The only negative I can think of is in the quality of the wire mesh which is a bit flimsy. The very first glass version I bought had a reinforced ring at the centre of the mesh. Later replacements came without the reinforcing ring.
