Pu-erh (red tea) from Yunnan Province is famous for being incredibly healthy. Some say it has an 'acquired taste', developed by wet-fermentation and long - maturity! Mild, slightly dense liquor, with a particular 'earthy' tone. Pu-erh is famed for its medical properties. It has been drunk by the people of the Yunnan - Tibet border provinces since the Tang Dynasty (620 - 907 AD). Pu-erh is taken to stave off all kinds of illness, and to relieve indigestion and stomach upset. They say there is minimal cancer in Yunnan! Pu-erh is a dieting tea, said to 'eat fat, whereas Oolong dissolves fat'. It is called 'Red Tea' in Europe, with a big following in Spain.
Brew with boiling water. Milk is optional. Use two or three teabags in a 6-Cup (1 litre) teapot or 1 teabag in a cup.
