Well Designed Product August 20, 2010 rogdeb These the lids to these saucepans are well designed. They sit snugly into the saucepan and have small and large drain holes so that you can easily run off the water without losing the contents. During the cooking process they are are extremely clean. I have had some designs that spit water all over the hob, these do not.
Bit disappointed August 5, 2010 Mr. Pj Morrison 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this set a couple of months ago, and they have some really good points, although ultimately a bit of a let down.
The none stick is really very good, and hasn't shown any kind of wear - obviously using plastic/wooden impliments.
The glass lids with the strainers at the side are a great idea, but the lids aren't exactly a snug fit, but they work ok.
My issue is now with the handles - two have started to go faulty, with the rubber part underneath detaching itself from the upper metal part of the handle. I can see another reviewer has mentioned that thiers have fallen off.
I am disappointed - I'm aware that you can spend hundreds on pans, so I'm under no false impression that these are the best, but they are £50 more than very cheap ones, and I wouldn't expect them to have any issues for the first couple of years - where these are getting dodgy after a couple of months.
I've contacted Amazon and have no reason to think they will let me down - they never have over the years I've shopped, but this is an odd one - do you return just the faulty pans, and keep the others, worrying that they will do the same? Can I be without pans while they get posted back, then new ones posted back to me?
I wonder if this is one of the only kinds of purchases that would be better shop bought?
Edited later - Amazon are superb. They are sending me a new set, then I can send the others back. They even provide a postage paid label for DHL to return. Hope the items don't have this issue again!
meyer saucepans July 24, 2010 carnamena First time I have bought Meyer saucepans and delighted with this product.
No sticking and easy to clean.
A dream to cook with and easy wash up what more could you as for.
Great Design & Set July 17, 2010 JJ Good quality & nice design but once the largest saucepan is filled with vegetables & water can tend to be quite heavy for people with weak wrists.
Decent pans for price i guess... July 15, 2010 Kray Got these in feb 2010.
When I got them, one of the lids was slightly buckled..however being metal it easily bent back in to shape(just about).
Not what I expected, but didn't want the headache of sending them backwards/forwards and being without cooked food!
The glass lids are a plus so you can see the food.
The enamel so far has stood the test of time, apart from some chipping away around the edges, doesn't effect use, but does make them look older than they are.
And yes we use nylon based accessories with these.
Another plus is they are easy to clean, we don't have a dishwasher so its all handwashed, and just remember not to use a scourer or rough edged sponge on the inside.
Also the handles have rubber grips which is a nice touch, overall the grip is great, they feel sturdy, and picking up hot pans hasn't been an issue at all.
The only other downside is the lids don't sit create a snug fit on the pans, so even when you turn the lids to prevent steam escaping from the vent holes, steam still tends to escape from the slight gaps between the lids and pans especially around the spout which is designed to pour away liquids with ease - i'm beginning to wonder if they're even worth having the vent holes as drainage of liquids/steam can be done from this gap anyway!
Overall they'l do the job, but I think we should have spent some more and gone for some good hard anodized pans.
