great pan July 27, 2010 Jennifer Lloyd I really like this pan. Its taken me a little while to get used to how to care for it but food tastes really nice and I like that I'm getting some iron!
Would recommend
A cook's delight July 26, 2010 MR C I have had this skillet for over 3 months now and I use it 2-3 time per week. I am happy to have moved away from teflon and it is such a pleausure using this pan. As long as I wash it only with hot water the seasoning stays and it feels rewarding to season it after every use as I see the seasoning develop so it becomes more non-stick. One of the best buys i have made. Not for those who need something light or those who want something for speed. It takes time to cool down after use and you can't put it into the sink straight away. Plus apparently it helps with adding some iron to your diet...
Excellent performance July 24, 2010 C. Vaughan (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a really excellent frying pan, virtually nothing sticks, the more you use it the better its performance, and unlike conventional non stick there are no worries about chemical leaching. It's also versatile - you can start curries, casseroles etc searing on the stovetop and then transfer straight to the oven, use it as a roasting dish, pie dish... in fact if I had to use just one pot/pan I would almost certainly choose this one! Cleans very easily if you follow the instructions (hot water and brush only, no detergent). I would guess that the only negative reviewer was probably attempting to use the pan without oil - you do need some fat to fry. Given that this cookware will last for decades it's also outstanding value for money.
Splendid cast iron skillet July 19, 2010 Peter Gallon (UK) Just what my wife wanted, actually - I ordered it on her behalf. As long as you condition it properly as per the instructions it seems to work well - ie in a non-stick way. Actually *made* in the States, not China - proof that there is still some life in those 'rustbelt' industries, even if they are not very high-tech!
hot stuff!! June 13, 2010 Mrs. Beverley C. Ormerod (Penwortham, Lancashire) what a beautiful pan, solid, goodlooking and cooks perfectly. Sauasages taste like they are meant to taste. Now I wont have to nag everyone not to scratch, damage or use the wrong tool because this pan will be around long after I've gone!!! Buy one, you wont regret it!!!
