Slightly disappointed August 17, 2010 HMMW I would like this stockpot much more if it had not sprung a slight leak at the point where one of the side handles is attached to the pot. I have used it just twice to make stock, only to find liquid dribbling down the side of the pan and spluttering onto the hob.
Good value for money, good for watery soups and pasta only August 7, 2010 Mr. Robert Hynes (Wales, UK) Well I've just thrown mine out. I wish I'd spent a lot more on a pan now. The problem is with these pans is they are so thin - the heat from the hob is not dissipated evenly. For boiling water for pasta this is fine, I'd image for watery soups this is also fine but with anything a little thicker you end up with large burn rings at the bottom of the pan where the flames are hitting it. If you just want to make loads of pasta then I'd give these pots a thumbs up. For anything that involves slow cooking for a long time don't get this pan - it'll burn the food at the bottom and spoil the dish. I'm off to by decent one now...
Value for Money March 10, 2010 Thomas Evans (Nottingham, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Very lightweight, but solid - great value for money. The size is given as 8l, although I calculated around 9.5l to the brim (not 11.8l as a faulty link said!)
Does the job at a very good price February 20, 2010 M. Porter (Berkshire England) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this to use as the receptacle for batches of soup that I make in a similar sized stock pot and liquidise before freezing. Previously I had to juggle 3 separate pans and then recombine in the existing stockpot. It obviously does that job without problems but I was able to put it to the test on the day it was delivered for cooking as I used it and the existing stock pot to boil 2 batches of oranges for marmalade which it also did well.
It is considerably lighter weight metal than the existing stock pot and I was wondering if it would distort during a long session on the hob cooking the oranges but there were no problems of that sort.
what a great pan February 9, 2010 Peter Wraxall (Manchester UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
