Broke after 3 weeks! September 6, 2010 Helen Like someone else who has reviewed this kettle mine is refusing to switch on. After only having it 3 weeks pretty poor.
Disappointing Wahl Kettle August 29, 2010 Ginasnap (Westcountry, UK.) After buying numerous expensive kettles we decided to buy a cheaper one so plumped for the Wahl due to the reviews we'd seen on Amazon. Couldn't get the filter in properly due to the ill-fitting part and it kept falling into the kettle as it boiled - its all plastic. When actually working the whole way through to actual boiling was pretty quiet so we were pleased as that was our main gripe with other kettles. Water tasted plasticky yet this gradually went over a few goes. Looks wise - sturdy - doesn't wobble when boiling, doesn't spit water everywhere when filled to maximum and all seemed fine. Three weeks in and boiled it - fine, then filled it again straight after and it wouldn't switch on - no light nothing so sadly it didn't last. I suppose you get what you pay for cheap and cheerful yet I'd expect a longer life! Returned it with no quibbles from Amazon - Fast refund. Thanks!
Good buy August 23, 2010 A. Langley Brought this product in the sale after reading other customer reviews. Having previously bought expensive kettles that haven't lasted I decided to take a chance on a cheaper product. I am very pleased with this item, it is a better kettle than the morphy richards I previously paid £40.00 for that didn't last 12 months before the lid broke! If you are looking for a decent product at a fair price then this is it.
Great value for money August 16, 2010 Mr S from CB Bit plastic'y to feel but looks ok, boils quickly and pretty quietly. Very good value for money
Glad it broke! August 8, 2010 J. Woollacott (England) My kettle broke - it just refused to switch on. However I was glad because I didn't like this kettle for a number of reasons.
The design looks good but is rather cheap and plasticie looking once received. The water also tasted of plastic when boiled, if you put in fresh water each time it wasn't as bad but still not great nor water efficient. Also you had to really yank at the lid to open it and it had a slight gap and never looked closed properly.
I wished i'd bought the philips energy efficient one instead but on it breaking I had to rush to the local supermarket to replace it and every little certianly helped and works superbly.
