dustbusterJuly 4, 2010 Joyce I did not realise how much dust my old cleaner was not picking up until I bought this Dyson. It really does eat up dirt. Very impressive - even picks up dog hairs which must have been embedded in the sofa.

We were trying to find something that was built in the UK, but this was proving impossible so at least I now use something that was invented by a Brit. We have a dog and the Dyson is absolutely brilliant at getting up all the loose dog hairs from a wooden floor. Really easy to use. I would recommend this vac to anyone thinking of purchasing one.

Bought this as a replacement for my vax machine which finally died after 3 years. Probably one too many tiny bits of my kids lego being sucked up!! I read a lot of reviews and finally decided on the DC14 origin machine. Arrived very quicky as per ususal with Amazon. Easy to put together. Very light in comparison to my old vax machine. Picks up very well but it is quite loud and does seem to have a rather uncomfortable whiney sound which tends to make me not want to vaccum for very long.. as if I need a reason. Other than that it's fine -it does the job but I'm not convinced it does it any better than my old machine and if I'd stuck with vax I could have replaced it for considerably cheaper.
JGMMay 12, 2010 JGM(Lancaster, England) Bought as replacement for very early Dyson and glad to say this one sucks the bits up as good as ever! No more to say. If you have a Dyson you know they are good if you don't have one, field test a friend's and find out.
