4 out of 5 stars Better than the Eco Kettle by far!   July 13, 2010
J. Cross
We originally bought an Eco Kettle 3, but had to send it back as too heavy and potentially dangerous. The Philips HD4671 has been excellent. Easy to fill, very clear level indicator, fast boil. We've all quickly learned how much water is required for any combination of mugs or cooking tasks, so we only boil what is needed. The minimum fill level is sufficiently low that you can just boil enough for a single cup, which was not true of our previous kettle. The limescale filter is more robust and larger than others I have seen, which is great news for us as we live in a very hard water area. The only reason for giving it 4 not 5 stars is that the inside is not completely smooth (there are plastic ridges, presumably for strengthening), making it slightly harder to wipe clean.

If you want a kettle that makes it easy to only boil what you need, looks nice and doesn't cost and arm and a leg, this fits the bill perfectly.

2 out of 5 stars Too heavy, too long to switch off.   July 12, 2010
Malkyp (Northants, England)
Although this is a nice looking kettle I find it too heavy. Much heavier than any other electric kettle I've ever owned and any efficiency is negated by the time it takes to switch off unless you're nearby and able to flick the switch manually.

5 out of 5 stars Replacement of provious model   June 30, 2010
Margaret
This kettke was purchased to replace the previous similar Philips model which unfortunately failed just after the two year guarantee had expired. It is a good robust kettle of good capacity and although a bit heavy compared to the cheaper "plastic" kettles is great value for money.
No hesitation in recommending the kettle or the price and fast free delivery from Amazon.

4 out of 5 stars Phillips HD4671/20 kettle   June 28, 2010

This is an excellent kettle. It can be safely boiled at low levels of water to save energy and it pours perfectly : no dribbles.
