Philips HD4644/00 Energy Efficient Kettle July 28, 2010 annamarie (Lancashire, England) I'm really pleased with this kettle - it is much quieter then my previous one. It switches off very quickly when the water boils, so good with electricity. I also like the fact that it will boil just one cup of water if I only want to make a cup of tea. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and the price was good too.
Does The Job July 27, 2010 Fire Horse (Scotland, UK) I am not over-enthusiastic about this kettle. It does the job for a reasonable price. It is very lightweight, feels insubstantial, and isn't a particularly desirable object. The base has a central power point upon which the kettle sits. Sometimes when it is facing in a particular direction, the power doesn't connect and you need to pick it up and re-seat it before the light comes on - a bit annoying if you didn't notice and are waiting for it to boil! Still, I suppose you generally get what you pay for. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts.
Great Kettle July 20, 2010 nergelag (Surrey, UK) Just replaced a broken Braun Kettle with this one. Much quieter than its predecessor - you can talk on the phone while the kettle is boiling - impossible with the Braun. The Energy Efficiency concept is simple but a great idea with the design of the kettle encouraging you to avoid boiling more water than you need.
Other people's reviews complained of a plastic taste - no problems with that either.
Clever design, cheap, quiet, does the job well - highly recommended - get one!
Fast and cheap July 19, 2010 Alexandra Roche (London) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Boils quickly, doesn't drip when you pour, small and neat looking, reasonable price. Only thing is that the cup sizes are very small. If you want a regular builder's tea sized mug then you will have to boil 1.5 cups per serving.
Good Buy July 17, 2010 torharris Cost effective - enables energy efficiency - neat and easy to handle. Maybe not a fabulous kitchen accessorie but this kettle does what it needs to do very well.
