Bees knees September 7, 2010 Mary Lizzie (Olney, Bucks, UK) This iron is excellent - a little heavier than my previous one, but I didn't notice when using it. It makes a great job even of dry linen trousers and glides over with barely any discernible difference in finish from the heavy pressure on damp linen I had to do previously. Lots of steam, but large capacity means refilling isn't too frequent. No leaks so far (2 months). Can't imagine what more you'd get for all the extra money some others cost.
Does the job it's suppose to do with ease ... August 27, 2010 Amanda (Dorset, England) I iron as little as possible, but when I do this iron makes light work of it. It uses tap water and is very easy to fill. If you are on full steam, it can get through the large water tank quite quickly but so easy to refill, it isn't a problem. It seems to be very evenly weighted & with some weight which makes it easy to press out the most stubborn of creases. Narrow 'nose' makes it easy to press round collars & buttons. If you can't afford a house maid, this is the next best thing!
Very effective but HEAVY! August 20, 2010 Mr. J. Hopkins (Surrey, UK) Extremely effective at obliterating every crease even in linen but the price you pay is weight, nearly 4lb or 1.7Kg. I had to buy another, lighter iron for my wife!
No lightweight! August 10, 2010 C. Robinson (London) With my old iron spewing out horrible brown stuff on my clean whites, even after a descale, I thought it was high time to purchase a new iron.
After quite a bit of research, I opted for the Philips Azur GC4610/02. This one of the best purchases I've ever made. It simply glides over fabrics effortlessly making ironing a pleasure not a chore. At just over 2kg, it's no lightweight, but this is a bonus, especially when you are ironing difficult fabrics such as linen and certain cotton items. The steam button gives you that extra burst of steam you need when trying to get rid of stubborn creases.
Finally, the price was a bargain ([...]); nowhere could I find a quality steam iron at this price.
If want a great iron, look no further.
Super steam August 9, 2010 Pete Nice and light to hold, glides easily, lovely colour, super heating up, large water tank. Cuts my ironing time in half. Love it!
