Flawed Design July 14, 2010

I would rather give this gadget 0 stars.
It works well for a while but then the battery fails and the opener stops part way round a can. The design is so basically flawed. You can't keep a power source to it as it won't work while it is charging. Once it fails to fully open a can, it is exceptionally hard to try and get the lid off the can, thus making the contents inaccessible.
I've hardly used the product, maybe 3 times a month for a year or so and it now won't even open one can. It's only fit for the bin.

My wife is very pleased with this can opener, as she doesn't have to use any muscle power to open cans. Easy to use once you get the hang of it, but something went wrong to begin with which cost us a new set of batteries. Otherwise very satisfactory, plus the usual speedy delivery from Amazon!

No mess, no fuss - have to be careful when picking up can after lid removed as has lost it's rigidity. Really pleased with this item.

I was advised to buy one of these by occupational therapy as I've got rheumatoid arhritis and struggle to hold cans still while I open them. This is a brilliant gadget and have even got my husband using it now. Excellent value for money and cheaper than some other places I've seen it advertised.
