 Wish I had known about rye bread programme on the 255! July 24, 2010

I bought this when my previous Panasonic's bowl assembly fell apart after 5+ years of heavy use. Discovering that a new bowl would only cost a couple of quid less than a new machine, I was happy to buy a new Panasonic and chose this model. After a couple of day's use, I'm glad to say this version is just as good. My only complaint is that I hadn't realised the SD255 has a rye bread programme. I have been making rye bread using the short programmes on my old SD 252 but would have probably paid the extra if I had realised. Now I expect to have to wait five years or more before being able to upgrade!

I have been making bread in this Panasonic SD254 three times a week for two months now, and it is excellent, wonder why I never took the leap before? I have always made my own bread but supplemented it with bought because I don't have time to make all the bread we eat (I do have to work!) and I often looked at breadmaker reviews on here. I was put off by some of the negative comments as, knowing my luck, I would be one of those unlucky people. However, I've done it now and not looking back yet.
I do find that the medium sized loaf is rather tall and I would prefer a longer loaf, but that is solved by making dough and then using my own tin occasionally. Rolls are good with the leftover dough. I have made the spiced fruit loaf, white loaf and brown loaf. Even my husband can use it LOL

Panasonic, I believe are the best breadmakers around. I have had one or two other makes but this one is definitely the best.

I would recommend this Bread Maker. Easy to use and lots of different settings. The bread is good and it is quiet to run
