5 out of 5 stars Fab!!   July 17, 2010

Overall, I'm ever so pleased with this clock radio! It looks cute and is a good size for my (small)bedside table. I have found all of its functions incredibly easy to use. I am happy with the brightness of the display. It is a little lightweight but that's not really a problem for me. The sound quality of the radio is good, as is the reception. I love that it has a snooze function. My only, teeny, gripe is that the alarm can be a little quiet for a heavy sleeper like me, even on the higher volume (my husband sleeps lighter and the alarm is plenty loud enough for him). The radio wakes me fine and is a nicer way to be woken anyway.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent radio clarity   July 10, 2010

I did have a DAB radio costing £50 (from another brand) by my bed but was unhappy with the sound. I have Sony for my main radio and the sound is lovely. I looked through all Sony's stuff and did not buy their DAB clock radio eventually mainly because the display is blue and people reported it as complicated. I then decided that for a bedside radio it doesnt have to be DAB, analogue is perfecly Ok for the time you listen to it, and Sony's reception is nearly as good as DAb anyway. I have been proved right. This radio is brilliant. Not stereo room filling sound, no, but clear reception and as I listen to ClassicFm mostly, the clarity means the music is more enjoyable because you can hear the separate notes. I was tempted by the cheaper one but glad I got this, it was £19 when I bought. It has a snooze extender and I can vary the disply. Green numbers on the display are the most restful colour.

I nearly took off a star because it has AMERICAN date setting with the month first. Fortunately in this it doesn't matter as I don't use it to look at the date. But it is very annoying. It really is a lovely well-designed product. It's classic lines will last until analogue is switched off, and I find the instructions and buttons very simple, so the full five stars. Thank you Sony, thank you Amazon.
