It is good family size microwave with other facilities, although it is bulky but understandable why. Easily you can place in it any large pot or platter. It is easy to clean and looks good with the black and silver colour, matches well with other kitchen appliances.

Unfortunately, after just 2 weeks , whilst using the convection oven,there was an aubible bang and upon investigation I discovered that the glass in the door had completely shattered!
Amazon have been really helpful so far and are arranging for a replacement to be sent out first class and for the old one to be picked up.
Up until it broke I was extremely pleased with the microwave and agree with all the previous comments about ease of use and functionality. I am hoping that this is just a 'one off' and not a common fault...has anyone else had a similar problem?

What more can I say other than this is the second Sharpe we have had in 8 years. Way cheaper from Amazon than other outlets by far, which quite surprised us.

A combi oven that is a pleasure to use. It would be better if they included a flan dish to fit on the rack and the cookery book could be more new user friendly. Apart from that I am very happy I purchased this model.

This oven was purchased to replace a failed Sharp oven of smaller size, but similar design, which had given first rate service. The decision to buy was much influenced by the success of the older oven, positive customer reviews, and the size of the Sharp R959. Its large volume is a boon on family occasions, and it has a wide choice of capabilities.
Unfortunately, the first oven received was a disaster. Although promptly delivered and in good condition, it was faulty and would not work. However, both the technical department at Sharp and staff at Amazon redeemed the situation by way of a prompt diagnosis of the fault and a rapidly executed return and replacement service. This excellent response more than made up for the setback and was a great credit to both companies. The matter was solved within 48 hours.
The replacement oven is doing all that should be expected of it. It is at its best in the microwave only, convection only or combi microwave & convection modes: the grill is adequate rather than outstanding, and the combined grill & microwave useful rather than essential, (but it is good for fish). The controls are straightforward, it is easy to clean, and so far the machine has not missed a beat.
In the round, highly recommended for anybody who wants a serious combi microwave oven. Although we use it as an additional means of cooking, it is sufficiently capable and flexible to be used successfully as a sole cooking source. It is particularly useful for family occasions, and competitively priced. I judge that we were very unlucky to get a rare "rogue" failure first time round: this one looks as if it will prove to be as or more successful than previous combi microwaves that we have owned
