Forget uncooked or rock hard boiled eggs, no more problems, this little device takes the guessing away --- result --- the 'perfect' egg for everyone.

I've never really known how to boil an egg properly. 3 minutes is apparently the right time from what I remember, but is that with the eggs going in cold or boiling water?
This clver little device removes the need to work out how long your eggs need. Just put it in the pan with your eggs, regardless of water temperature, and just monitor the the timer for the increasing dark patch. When it reads how you want your eggs, you're done, and you get exactly what you wanted.
The only small issue with this timer is actually seeing it within a pan full of bubbles and a simmering surface. It can take a bit of squinting and a face closer to the pan that you like to see where the reading is sometimes.

I am so fed up with this useless item.
I thought the colour changed !!
All i got was a steamed up lump of smelly plastic, and hard boiled eggs.
I shall stick to my trusty egg timer.

We find this egg timer excellent, ideal for home and camping. Remember to let it cool down naturally after use, as constant imerging in cold water after use causes it to deteriorate after a while.

Very simple and idiot proof. I was a sceptic and bought this as a laugh but it works really well. I'll use it every time I boil an egg now
