This is great, have had a few meals from it now and they have all been lovely. Easy to use and easy to clean. Would recommend.
Oval slow cooker review March 2, 2010 Mr. David Orchard (Guildford, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It came securely packed within two days of being ordered, had clear instructions, and does "what it says on the tin". It casseroles food very well, but slowly.
The only slight point to watch is that it takes a very long time to heat up. The instructions hint at this, telling you to add boiling water at the outset. An even better way, I discovered, is to pre-heat the oval earthenware pot (which lifts out very easily) in the main oven for 15 minutes or so. This saves about two hours on cooking time !
Another minor point is that poultry must be cooked 'jointed' (i.e. in portions) rather than 'entire', as there isn't sufficient heat to cook the interior of an entire chicken at a high enough temperature. But this is correctly reflected in the recipe book, so you won't easily go wrong.
morphy richards slow cooker 48710 3.5litres February 28, 2010 yorkshire folk having bought one each for our son and daughter, we liked it so much, we bought one for ourselves! It is such a great product, looks fantastic, cooks beautifully, and is easy to clean. I make a vegetable casserole cooked on med. heat, then twenty minutes before end of cooking time, I thicken the gravy, turn the heat to high for twenty minutes, then quickly add the dumplings and cook for thirty minutes more, great. The rice pudding is to die for, much better than the oven method as it can be left to it's own devices. Oh, and the price is great too!! We are vegetarian, so I part defrost quorn chicken style pieces, and add these to the veggies, I also find that onions are best sliced thinly for better cooking. No need to add salt either if you use a good stock, i.e bouillon powder mixed with boiling water, and a little fresh ground pepper. A true five-star product.

Happy Slow Cooking February 26, 2010 E. A. Slater 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Good value for money. Manufacturer does include a recipe section in its booklet, but it is a bit limited.
Would be sensible to buy a recipe book on slow cooking at the same time, so will take my own advice and purchase one.
Have used the above several times and find it a useful addition to the kitchen.
