IT'S PERFECT! September 7, 2010 Mrs Carol A Lynch (Horam, East Sussex United Kingdom) Bought to replace an aluminium pan, which I knew wasn't very healthy and was prone to burning. The new pan has made chutney, jellies and jams almost non-stop since purchase without any problems at all. The thick base distributes the heat evenly without burning (even when I got distracted and one batch of jam was almost boiling over!) Although the sides of the pan couldn't help but burn, it washed off really easily. The content markings on the inside of the pan are a godsend and remove the necessity of decanting the contents to measure them. The handles are strong and make pouring easy. The price was very good too, much cheaper than High Street outlets. How did I ever manage without it?
Kitchen Craft Maslin Pan August 21, 2010 David J The Kitchen Craft Maslin Pan is exactly what I wanted.
I have recently started as a Beekeeper and wanted a pan to make sugar syrup for Bee food.
The pan is excellent for this purpose.
The capacity scale inside helps to get the quantities right and the pan is extremely easy to clean with no more than hot water.
It was delivered in perfect condition and I am totally satisfied with it, and it's reasonable price.
should have purchased years ago August 16, 2010 Ms. O. Smith (Cornwall, UK) can't remember now why I didn't buy this many years ago. It shouldn't have been delayed as a "treat" purchase, but snatched up as an essential expense. Works sooo much better than my old aluminium, enamelled and ancient brass ones. Cleans like a dream too. Pretty enough to leave out on the kitchen work surface - which is just as well as it will be in continuous use from March to October annually. Will recycle the old varieties as animal feeders!
How to get into a jam July 25, 2010 forger21 It is the ideal shape of pan to use for jam making. So it is described in any book on jam making I have seen.
This particular one is very good quality for the price. It is stainless steel at the price of aluminium. Stainless steel is much better for preserves that contain vinegar as this may react against aluminium.
It is a large pan and will take up a lot of room on the hob or cooker, so it is more for serious jam makers who make to sell.
Overall, it represents excellent value for money.
Maslin Pan July 20, 2010 Mrs. L. J. Mayzes Great size with handy measurements on the inside of the pan. Very sturdy great for making jam. Highly recommended.
