Superb product all round December 24, 2008 Mark Blackamore (Nottingham, UK) I have had this coffee maker for a year now and have not been disappointed with my purchase at all. The filter coffee side is pretty much the same as any other, the hot plate is powerfull enough to keep a full pot at a good temperature. My favourite part is the expresso maker. This I use this everyday whether it's for an espresso, a latte or an americano. Delicious! My supermarket always has some form of ground coffee on offer so it is low cost quality coffee unlike the cartridge type machines. My only tiny gripe is the milk steamer. This tends to just heat the milk rather than froth it up like what you get in a coffee shop. Having said that it still makes a delicious latte.
an excellent machine November 30, 2008 S. Payne (staffordshire) I'm really pleased I bought this coffee machine, it's well made, easy to and quick to use and produces an excellent cup of hot coffee. I have used filter makers for many years with varying degrees of success quite often the coffee is weak and warm, but the Delonghi machine makes both filter coffee and an espresso equally well. I'm not an expert on cappuccino as I prefer black coffee but it seems fine to me.
Good machine but with faulty water tank October 29, 2008 Nude Emperor 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Makes reasonably good espresso. There are two small problems. 1) As mentioned by other reviewers, the expresso water tank suffers from a serious design fault. If you take it out to refill it then, because of a fault with the valve at the bottom, a significant amount of water leaks out of the bottom of the machine onto the work surface. Contrary to what's been reported by another reviewer, this is NOT solved by ensuring that the tank is replaced 'properly'. Once it's in place the water stops leaking. Therefore a solution to the problem is to fill it in-situ using a jug. Not really a show stopper. 2) The plastic gasket that makes a seal between the expresso filter holder and the filter itself, is likely to need replacing over time (pretty standard with this type of machine). The problem is that the DeLonghi UK website doesn't list this among the available replacement parts and a 'google' didn't produce anything. If I were buying this machine again I'd give DeLonghi a call first to see if this part is likely to be available in the medium term. I paid 39.99 for this machine and at that price I can live with the above.
Great coffee maker August 20, 2008 R. ROBINSON (Tunbridge Wells. Kent) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Absolutely great. Makes coffee just as you would want it in a cafe. The milk frother is excellent. Gets milk really hot. Looks good too. Easy to use. The ideal way to make cappucinos. Can't recommend this machine enough.
delonghi BCO 255 pumped combi coffee maker April 11, 2008 Charlotte Wood (UK) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
Purchased March 2008. Delighted with product - smart looking and both the filtered coffee maker and expresso sides are easy to use. I decided on this coffee maker after reading amazon reviews. I initially thought my expresso water tank was damaged as twice water leaked onto my worktop after using. However I simply had not re-inserted the tank firmly enough into the coffee maker. I now fill the water tank keeping it within the coffee maker and have had no further leaks. I paid 74 and believe it money well spent. I would definitely recommend.
