This is a lovely little machine which is much better than a conventional toaster and looks smart as well. A wider range of use. Adverse reviews mentioned 'cutting out' of the element. I would like to say I think this is the thermostatic control operating i have deduced. The presence of the booster button meaning quite high heats can be obtained means that it could rise to dangerously high heats in a small space, so the thermostat cuts it out to produce an overall even heat. Very good and safe. As a retired lady I appreciate sitting down to watch my lunch cheese on toast cook at eye level. is very very good.

Best toaster I have ever owned. Cooks the most perfect cheese on toast in under 3 minutes. Very quick to heat up and gets red hot (literally the top element glows red after a min or so). The clicking noises it makes are as follows:
Clicks to let you know you have turned the power on or off.
Clicks to let you know when you hit the power button on or off.
Clicks when you turn the timer switch.
Important that it does make these noises as it gets so hot so quickly you must be very careful not to burn yourself.

I first used this grill/toaster at my daughters house in the states and I am completely sold. It's fantastic for toasting thick or uneven bread, chesse on toast, grilling, warming and loads of other things.
I've searched in all the shops and big stores over here and couldn't find one until I searched here on Amazon. I am definately buying one and can't wait for it to arrive. No more burnt toast and trying to get the bits out with a knife !!

I guess I did not look at the picture long enough but this oven does not have a door. It is basically only good for making toast definitly not grilling or heating pizza.

Homemade bread, rolls, soft & hard to cut unsliced loaves etc can all be toasted in this compact and attractive little marvel. No more burned thick or thin corners on wedge shaped bread cuts. Plus it can at a pinch grill bacon without having to kneel beforet our built-in oven. Great for a bedsit too, grill oven plate warmer. Finally and what its really all about CHEESE ON TOAST.
