AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! October 24, 2008 Mr. K. Barnard 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is my second one, the first one when set to filter poured the contents of the oil all over my kitchen cabinets and floor even though the container was fitted correctly. The second one does the same thing. Its going right back first thing in the morning. Once again Tefal has brought out an item that is over priced and under developed.
Yes it's Big-but I like it! June 22, 2008 A. Stevens (flintshire, n. wales uk) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I think this is the best fryer I have ever had! I have never had a problem with any spillages or faulty bits. I bought it in Costco (wholesaler)last year, it cost me about 50 quid or thereabouts. Much cheaper than the High Street and if Im not happy I get a no-quibble money back guarantee. I know that not everyone can get to a costco and I have to admit that I wouldnt normaly spend 99 on a chip pan, however if you have room for it its a good product.
Big and Beautiful June 8, 2008 C. Benham (South Staffordshire) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is the best fryer I have ever owned. I will admit it is on the large side but it copes beautifully with several adult portions. The heating up cycle is very short compared to most domestic fryers this is probably due to the large heating element which sits in the oil as opposed to under the container base. The timer is one of those unexpected features which I thought I'd never use - Now I can do without it, It comes totally apart for easy cleaning which again means no oily beast to fry in. The oil filtration is brilliant no more burnt bits at the bottom of the pan and the oil container isn't difficult to refill the pan with either. The slight downside has been mentioned in an earlier review about steam and the controls at the back, I overcame this after by leaving the lid in place when raising the basket and waiting a couple of seconds - no more hot hands :) Overall I'm really impressed as the cost was a big issue especially when you can get smaller standard ones a lot cheaper but I think this is a great investment piece,
Excellent Fryer & So Easy To Clean March 8, 2008 D. Sykes (Leicestershire, UK.) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I felt compelled to write this review having read the experiences of others. I have very frequently used my fryer and I haven't experienced any of the problems that the other reviewers found. Neither of them pointed out that if you drain the oil into the base unit every time you use it there is the added benefit of the oil being filtered each time - then simply pop it in your dishwasher and recycle the oil - simple! In use the fryer is excellent - as I said, I haven't had any problems and it produces fabulous results. A great product - so good that I found the reviews whilst looking for a second fryer for my holiday home!
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT February 24, 2008 G. Harrison (Hampshire) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought this fryer yesterday. Today, I'm putting it back in the box and getting ready to take it back to the shop. I followed the instructions in the manual to the letter and ended up with 3.3 litres of oil over my work surfaces and floor. The valve in the bottom of the frying bucket (which is the key to storage/filtering system) simply doesn't work and lets the oil out almost as fast as you can pour it in. Having cleaned up, I tried again, this time over the sink. Exactly the same happened and I'm not trying again. I'm very very disgruntled.
