nice machine but still heavy September 5, 2007 J. Sheridan-ross (Leeds, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is my second Dyson - I've been using a Morphy Richards for 3 years that I hated from the day I purchased so decided to treat myself to another Dyson. I don't like to dc15 all floors as much as I liked my old dc01 actually. I find the motion quite tricky to use and am still pushing it in straight lines rather than allowing the ball to do the work - I guess I just need to practice more but have to agree with other reviews here that say its a boys toy as my husband loves it! Stair cleaning is still really difficult if you have a turn in them as the hose stretches fine but the attachments are inflexible and you need a fair bit of effort to get the hose and tube positioned properly to clean both the riser and tread of each stair. I also find the quick release hose mechanism difficult - I never quite seem to get it to go back but thats a minor issue. I hate the crevice tool - it just does not pick up unless its against a skirting as it has a little suction release hole on its side. Not necessarily a problem if you don't use the tool but its a key problem if you've got a conservatory and need to vacuum up the dead flies! The machine works well right up to the edges on laminate, wood and carpets and it really does bring up the pile nicely. Its very low to the ground and low profile so you can get under tables etc very easily but it is so low it won't pick up even little leaves or anything larger than dust unless you get the tools out. Would I have bought it if I'd tried it out first? Probably not because it doesn't quite do some of the little jobs I'm used to doing easily as I run the vac round each day and the poor suction on the crevice tool is an issue for me. That said, if the crevice tool was better, I'd have probably given it 5 stars! I'm going to buy the mini turbine head to help make the stair cleaning a bit easier (think its cheaper to buy it in the car cleaning kit so i'll get the flexible crevice tool in the kit too).
lovely machine June 7, 2007 Mysticulous (Croydon UK) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
got mine when it just came out so am not amused by the price it's offered for now firstly, if the wire was coiled it'd make life allot easier, it's not exactly light, the less need for having to lift it, the better secondly, i gotta work too hard to keep it looking prestigious, the clear view dust container, gets dusty i'm not gonna say it'd be better without that facility as it does add to the overall style, but it's something new purchasers should be aware of now, onto the goodies ;o) like with anything new, controlling the direction the first few attempts isn't easy, but once you've got the hang of it, it pretty much does the job in 1/4th of the time it's quick, powerful and extremely effective. plus, it looks pretty hot too i have griped yet, i wouldn't wanna be without it
new user and very impressed January 21, 2007 Mrs. Rachel Ann Clarke (UK) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I have never had a Dyson before & could restrain my materialistic urges no more. Impressed with the price, which was much lower than anything in the shops, I decided to go for the newest technology. Good old Amazon - about 24 hours after placing the order, I was unpacking my new toy. I was a bit concerned that my lack of technological ability would hinder me but it has been very straightforward to use and obviously well-designed. I have been amazed at what's come out of my carpets (!), the 'ball' is very easy to manoevre, the carrying handle on the front makes it fairly easy to transport and the cable is a good length. All the carefully thought out features made me realise what drawbacks I'd been putting up with on my old machine. All in all, this purchase has really lived up to the high expectations I had of it.
GREAT PIECE OF KIT! October 3, 2006 FRANKL FAN (High Wycombe UK) 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
Our old Dyson was getting a bit tired and I read the other reviews for this Dyson on Amazon and decided to buy it. It is everything the other reviewers have said. Every possible nook and cranny is catered for. Plus... it's great fun to use. My wife can't believe I'm doing the vacuuming as much as I do. This is an excellent buy!!
Brilliant - never going back to another brand! June 12, 2006 C. Evans (Wales) 31 out of 33 found this review helpful
This is the first time I have purchased a Dyson having avoided them for years, now I am definatley a Dyson convert after just a few months and will not go back to purchasing any other type of cleaner. Even though your carpets look clean, it is unbelievable how much it actually picks up. - Easy to use on varying floor coverings and a doddle on the stairs (you can leave it at the bottom and the hose reaches all the way to the top). Oh and the filters are all washable - so no worrying about replacing bags or filters an extra bonus!. My husband even likes using the cleaner (definately a break-through for all women! and even my two year old takes a keen interest in it) This is the cheapest price I have found for this model - and I did look around, and first class service from Amazon as always
