Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Krups Burr Grinder has a coarse/fine grind selector; use coarse for filter coffee, fine for espresso to get optimum levels of flavour extraction without bitterness. With 200g removable coffee container and safety lid and upper burr. With an LED on/off display, the GVX2 also has a number of cups (2-12) selector, so you can gauge quantities accurately. You can switch the grinder off manually, or it will switch itself off when the required quantity has been ground.

1 out of 5 stars Poor feed, not enough beans in the motor.   December 29, 2008
Karl Thomas (UK)
We just bought and returned one of these, we were after replacing a very noisy Russell Hobbs grinder and decided to go with the Krups. The problems we found were that generally it didn't feed well (couldn't cope with the Elephant coffee from Whitards at all) meaning you had to frequently shake the unit to get it to grind, and then frequently when it did feed the beans stalled the grinder. Not impressed. You then had to tip it all out of the top, remove the upper grinder burr, reassaemble and start again. Not sure what to try next. Dualit?

5 out of 5 stars Excellent for the Money & Compact   December 9, 2008
Mr. Simon M. Collins (Reading, UK)
Firstly Id like to say that this grinder works fine once you read the manual. I did the typical blokey thing of having a play with my new gadget and on the first grind it didnt do much at all.

I then followed the instructions and there are very precice (but easy to carry out) instructions on how to reconnect the top section of the grinder. Once I did this it worked a treat. Yes when the beans get really low you may have to shake it a little but just dont let the hopper run too low is the solution to that one.

All in all for 35 you cant expect much more. The size is great and matches my Krups Espresso Machine.

5 out of 5 stars Grinds perfectly, I cannot fault it   September 21, 2008

This little machine (that's what I like about it - it's small and doesn't take up half of the kitchen) does a brilliant job and, if you use it correctly according to the instructions (which some of the 2* reviewers clearly haven't done), it produces consistant grinds and consistant amounts of coffee every time. I keep it next to my Krups coffee maker which is styled in the same way and it looks very attractive. It's a bit loud but then coffee grinders always are. I love it!

1 out of 5 stars Useless   June 11, 2008

Pay attention to the reviewers here who have rated the product 2 stars, their descriptions are accurate.
I bought one of these and had the same experience they did, I found that on fine settings (I use an espresso machine) the plates were spinning but the beans wouldn't feed into the grinder without shaking the machine.
Worse, I don't know how the power cut off is supposed to operate, but I found the machine frequently switched itself for no apparent reason (even with quantity selector set to maximum)and would not come back on again!
I thought it was faulty, so I returned it. Avoid.

4 out of 5 stars Great product for the price   December 29, 2007

I've had this grinder for around 2 years now and it's been 100% reliable. It's very easy to operate and the grind settings are good enough for all machines. I've just bought a Gaggia Baby Class D espresso machine and this Krups grinder makes fine enough coffee to use in it.

There are some small niggles; the beans sometimes get stuck and you have to shake it to loosen them again, also the two safety mechanisms (hopper lid and grind container) can occasionally be temperamental, but these are small prices to pay for such quality at a low price.
