4 out of 5 stars A timely reminder   December 7, 2008
Gary Stanyard (Diversity Grove)
A big improvement on Salter's previous timer, this one has 4 timing modes, perfect for those fussy egg eaters in the morning when one person wants a really hard egg and someone else wants a really soft one and you just want them to stop arguing about eggs and eat their sausages! Now, all the family can watch their minutes and seconds fly by until their egg is done just the way they like it. It's like having 4 pairs of eyes in your head, in addition to your own eyes, that's 5 eyes, or pairs of, to watch eggs.

It's also useful for baking cakes by giving a measurement of time, however don't plan on baking a cake for 100 hours, the timer doesn't count that far, but as my wife said, she'll never bake cakes for a hundred hours anyway and I said, good job, because you won't be able to keep track of the time unless you use a clock a calendar!

A really handy device, we take it everywhere with us, evn using it to time how long our journeys take in the car. We've managed to shave 2 minutes off the tesco run on Sunday! The only improvement I could offer is a strap to allow you to attach it to your wrist, to make it really portable.

5 out of 5 stars Clever timer - Excellent value   November 22, 2008

I wouldn't normally write a review about a timer, but you sometimes find an item which has such a good combination of features, and is such a pleasure to use, you just have to pass on the comments!

Well thought out and made. Nice size with a large clear display. Fast to set and easy and intuitive to use even with 4 timers and can be used to count up as well as down. It's very easy to tell which alarm has gone off by the frequency of beeps: 1-4 times per second for timers 1-4. Buttons aren't stiff and are big and responsive. Magnet is strong on my fridge door, it's never budged let alone fallen off. By the way, in response to one comment, you can set the clock at any time - it's in the instructions.

Only niggle - I agree that it's fitting the batteries (2 x LR44), otherwise it's a great buy

4 out of 5 stars Great timer, but clock can't be changed when the hour changes   November 6, 2008
Steve P (south east England)
Excellent product.
Only downside, (and reason for four stars), is when the UK hour changes there is only 1 way to change the clock. Take the batteries out and put them back in, so the time is reset to 12 oclock. So (unless I have missed something) you have to do this at 12 oclock or the clock time part will always be inaccurate.
Otherwise very good.

4 out of 5 stars Good Timer   October 28, 2008
R. J. Bartlett (UK)
Excellent timer, very easy to use. Allows up to 4 different timers each with a different beep so you can identify which one has gone off. Also keeps the time you entered so if you need to keep doing things for a certain amount of time its great.

4 out of 5 stars Good times   October 17, 2008
Rob Stoppable (Diss, England)
It has four independent timers, which is handy when you've got to remember more than one thing at a time. Each timer has a different number of beeps, so it's easy to keep track of what's going on.
